SMB series brushless servo motors have been designed to combine cutting-edge technology with extremely high performance. By using innovative 'Salient Pole' technology, with neodymium-iron-boron magnets uniquely encapsulated in the motor shaft, SMB synchronous servo motors can achieve very high accelerations and withstand high overloads without the risk of demagnetisation or magnet loosening. In addition, the dimensions of the motor are significantly reduced, providing significant advantages in terms of specific torque and dynamic performance. Compared to traditional brushless servo motors, the specific torque of SMB servo motors is about 30 % higher and the rotor moment of inertia is extremely low, making it particularly suitable for highly dynamic applications.
